Crushing, grinding, and flotation are the three major steps in the process of nickel ore beneficiation. These steps are followed by a series of chemical and physical processes to separate the valuable minerals from the gangue material.

Air bubbles are then introduced into the mixture, and the hydrophobic minerals attach to the air bubbles and rise to the surface as a froth. This froth is then skimmed off and dried to produce a concentrate of nickel minerals.
The concentrate is further processed through a series of chemical and physical processes to produce nickel metal or nickel-containing products. These processes may include smelting, roasting, leaching, and electrorefining, depending on the desired final product.
