Mined ore from the underground mining operation is brought to the surface and transported to stockpiles where it is separated into three different types for blending to achieve optimal metallurgical results.The ore is then delivered to a 50t capacity dump hopper with a grizzly and fed into a PE-1200×1500.The discharge at -100 mm is conveyed via the transfer house to a 1830mm x 3660mm long double deck screen.Oversize from the top screen (+50 mm) is diverted to a HPC400 secondary cone, installed in December 2002, to provide a 28 mm output.The bottom screen oversize (+12 mm) is fed to a DR1145 Vertical shaft impact crusher now converted to a tertiary cone crusher operation.Discharge from both cone crushers plus the jaw crusher product are combined and returned to the double deck screen by a common belt conveyor.The undersize from the screen is conveyed to a 2500t-capacity fine ore bin. The bin feeder arrangement has the capability to satisfy the entire concentrator feed requirement via three variable speed vibratory feeders.Furthermore, the crushing and screening operation is housed within a common 29m x 14.5m steel-framed building. A wet scrubber minimizes dust generation in the facility.
