Iron ore pelletization is a process in which iron ore is concentrated, mixed with a binder and formed into pellets. The pellets are then shipped to steel mills where they are used in blast furnaces to produce steel. The use of iron ore pellets in blast furnaces reduces the amount of coke and other fossil fuels needed to produce steel, which reduces greenhouse gas emissions and helps to protect the environment.
