Manganese ore beneficiation technology

Low-grade manganese ore cannot be directly used in industrial production due to high impurity content, thus there is a need for a method of enriching low-grade manganese ore. Manganese ore processing plant is used to separate valuable minerals from impurity content by physical or chemical properties.

After continuous practice, the density, magnetic and floatability differences between manganese ore and gangue were found.

Based on these differences, the suitable processing plant for manganese ore is the mechanical selection (including washing, sieving, re-election, strong magnetic separation and flotation), as well as fire enrichment and chemical beneficiation.

Main equipment and usage of manganese ore processing plant

The following will introduce the main manganese ore beneficiation plant and its production process in detail, including the crushing process, grinding process and beneficiation process.

Major equipment

There are many types and sizes of equipment in the whole manganese beneficiation process. The major equipment is as follows: vibrating feeder, PE jaw crusher, cone crusher, vibrating screen, pendulum feeder, ball mill, spiral classifier, high frequency sieve, magnetic separator, concentrator, filter, dryer, etc.

Manganese Ore Beneficiation Plant

The process of the manganese processing plant is crushing – grinding – separating.

Crushing – It is an optional circuit. It consists of screening the dump material assaying ≥28% Mn ~30% Mn and < 32% Mn, over 20 mm and crushing the -20 mm in Hammer crusher set to 15mm in closed circuit with 20 mm screen. The plant feed of -20mm is sent to washing section ton.

Washing and screening circuit-The -20 mm material is then scrubbed in a Drum scrubber at 60% S and then wet screened over triple deck screen with10,5 and 2 mmscreens obtaining -20+10 mm, -10+5 mm, -5+2 mm products and – 2 mm pulp.

Magnetic separation process

Magnetic separation is the key process of the entire magnetite beneficiation process, magnetic effect is a direct impact on the final concentrate grade. Magnetite beneficiation process uses three segments magnetic separation processes, magnetic separator beneficiation equipments are magnetic separation, plastic pump and ceramic filter. Cyclone overflow piped into the rougher magnetic separator, rougher scavenger tailings sent into the magnetic separator, scavenger tailings discharged to the tailings, concentrates and rougher concentrate is mixed into the selection of magnetic machine, and then import the rougher tailings selected separator, and the concentrate is the desired concentrate. Concentrate through the gum into the ceramic filter dewatering pump, get dry concentrate, and water through the gas-water separator return system.

Dry tailings discharge magnetite beneficiation process is an important part of the process, the main tailings dry exhaust equipments are efficient thickener, cyclone and efficient multi-frequency sieve dehydration.
