Ball and Race Mill: This type of mill consists of rotating upper and lower rings, with large balls circulating in between. The coal is fed through a central coal inlet, and the balls crush and grind the coal against the lower ring. The pulverized coal is then transported to the furnace for combustion.
Hammer Mill: A hammer mill consists of a rotating drum with hammers that strike and grind the coal. The coal is fed into the mill through a feed chute and is pulverized by the rotating hammers. The pulverized coal is then blown into the furnace for combustion.
Each type of roller mill has its own advantages and disadvantages, depending on factors such as coal quality, desired fineness, and plant layout. The choice of roller mill type is typically based on the specific requirements and conditions of the thermal power plant.
