The stone is obtained from underground by a method of digging, blasting or cutting. This course of action is generally known as quarrying as well as the pit or open excavation from which the stone is obtained is called a Quarry.Based on the excavation system, quarries could be divided into two broad categories: Vertical Quarries and Horizontal Quarries. In the digging procedure, when the stone within the form of raw material is obtained, the walls with the quarry are known as a Vertical Quarry, whilst stone gathered in the bed or floor is generally known as a Horizontal Quarry.

Stone crushing machine is generally by a jaw crusher consisting of a heavy metal plate which moves backwards and forwards against a fixed plate (they are the “jaws”). The Quarrying Course of action & Quarry Products Page 4 of 8 moving plate is kept in motion and given its crushing energy by a large flywheel. The crusher is wider at the top than at the bottom. Rock in the quarry face is fed into the top of the crusher and crushed rock falls out of your bottom on the jaws. The size on the crushed stone which passes through the jaws is partly governed by the gap set at the bottom with the jaws, though larger size rocks can pass through if the rock being crushed is slabby or elongate in shape. Large scale gyratory crushers can also be used.
