CEC purchased the Carra Cel VSI product line from its original product developer. The product has been successfully sold to the aggregate industry for about 15 years. We have many owners that run 2 to 4 machines.The Carra Cel can run rock on rock or closed table and a breaker block Carra Cel. Changing from rock on rock to closed table breaker block takes about one hour.The model 70 can have 100 to 300 hp motors. The model 90 runs dual motors 150 to 250 hp. The owners will tell you they have a throughput of 1.2 tons per horsepower.The model 70 & 90 Skid Mounted Carra-Cel Crusher has special features the inventor patented.You can run rock on rock crushing or closed table and breaker block ring. It is less expensive in cost per ton to run rock on rock but some rock does not fracture easily and requires the breaker block assembly. Very hard, tough rock that is not friable will need the breaker block assembly.

The Carra-Cel crusher is wired with a rotor reversing switch. This creates even wear on both sides of the rotor and rock-on-rock common pins. It also creates even two face wear on the breaker blocks.The model 70 is powered with 100 to 300 Hp motors depending on the feed volume. The maximum recommended feed size is 2 ½” with a top size occasional to 3”.The model 90 is powered with dual 150, 200 or 250 Hp motors, depending on the feed volume. The maximum recommended feed size is 4 ½” with an occasional 5”.The crushers through put is approximately 1.2 tons per hour per horse power. The Impactors run closed circuit with 6×16 and 6×20 screens.The Carra-Cel can convert from a rock on rock crusher cell to a breaker block cell in 2 hours or less. CEC has a step by step procedure on this change.The model 70 has a six port feed table and the 90 is five ports. Feed size is important. The feed size should be controlled to keep your wear cost low. Over sized feed will break castings.You can produce sand as well as cubical aggregate. Feed size of the model 70 is 2 1/2 inches. The model 90 accepts 5 inch infeed.
Model 70 Carra-Cel™ Vertical Shaft Impactor Crusher
CEC Carra-Cel Vertical Shaft Crusher is the industry’s most advanced crusher. The Model 70 can operate from 150 to 300 horsepower, depending on the job to be done. 1 to 1.5 tons per hour per horsepower thru-put. The top picture shows a six port closed table (top removed) that has a 14” feed tube. It runs in conjunction with the Rock-On-Rock Carra-Cel . The Carra-Cel VSI produces different fine rock products. Typical products would be 3/4” x 0, 1/4” x #10, and #10 minus. The crusher will also produce manufactured sand. In addition the VSI will significantly increase base rock production without additional labor. The table uses three big wear pins at each port exit. The rotating 36” table accelerates the rock out of the table against the rock cell in a rollingmotion across the cell face. Additional discharge of rock impacts the rolling rock, breaking it into a cubical product. In-air rock collision also reduces the rock to size. The construction of the table and rock cell pins allow above average production andlow cost operation. Feed size is 2½” x¼” with a preferred top size of 3”.
The “Breaker Block Rock Cel” will produce a product with less fine and works well where fines are not available to pack the rock on rock cell.You can change cells in less than two hours.The Model 70 Carra-Cel can be equipped with a variable speed drive system that will control the table speed. This allows you increase or decrease fines at the touch of a switch. Variable speed is expensive, but normally pays for itself in six to twelve months. Additional finished product per hour is a result of improved speed.Equip your CECModel 70 Carra-Cel with a variable frequency drive. You can then select the exact speed of the table to achieve your best production. Increased production will pay for the “VFD” drive the first year.
