Alluvial gold mining refers to the process of extracting gold from river beds, beaches, and other natural formations in a manner that does not involve the use of underground tunnels or shafts. A typical alluvial gold mining wash plant consists of a trommel screen, a scrubber, and a sluice box. The trommel screen is used to remove large rocks and debris from the alluvial deposit, while the scrubber is used to break down the clay and other sticky materials that may be present. The sluice box then captures the gold particles as the water and sediment flow through it.
One of the main advantages of alluvial gold mining is that it does not require expensive equipment or infrastructure. Instead, small-scale miners can use simple and inexpensive tools such as shovels, picks, and pans to extract the gold.
